HOW TO: Build The Perfect Poke Bowl At Home



The perfect poke bowl starts with high quality tuna. We trust Annasea Tuna because it is wild-caught, traceable, sustainably sourced and is recommended by Vancouver's sustainability organization, Ocean Wise. Each Annasea Poke Kit includes an 8oz package (2 servings) of flash frozen, cubed tuna and a convenient 2oz sauce packet.

Choose between your sauce preference: 

Wasabi is a classic Japanese ingredient that infuses perfectly with the flavours of authentic Hawaiian poke. This other-worldly sauce is made with wasabi oil that masterfully elevates the tuna cubes. Don't worry, it's not too spicy!

Shoyu is considered the traditional Hawaii island fllavour. Shoyu is light, salty, and a little sweet, and the flavours are highlighted when they meet high-quality tuna in this classic Hawaiian flavour pairing.

  • Wasabi: 1 Tbsp of Diced Green Onion
  • Shoyu: 1 Tbsp of Mixed Green & White Onion
  • Seaweed salad, also known as Wakame
  • Cucumber
  • Edamame beans
  • Pickled ginger
  • Pineapple or mango chunks
  • Crispy fried onions
  • Avocado
  • Cooked rice

Preparation

Step 1: Thaw poke cubes.

Thawing Option 1: Remove fish from box, carefully puncture vacuum pack and thaw in refrigerator overnight on a plate. Do not thaw in refrigerator with vacuum seal intact.

Thawing Option 2: Cover sealed bag with cold water until thawed, for 20-30 minutes. Package should be pliable once thawed.

Step 2: Once thawed, mix tuna with the sauce packet in a bowl.

Step 3: Add your additional toppings of choice, mix, and serve immediately.
